Whether it is starting a community garden, renovating a school playground or helping families get their homes ready for winter, Karma For Care Foundation wants to know what you are passionate about. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is an international non-profit Christian sports ministry based in Kansas City, Missouri. FCA was founded in 1954. It has staff offices located throughout the United States and abroad. The Gordonsville High School chapter meets every Friday morning at 7:30AM in the Band Room. Everyone is invited to attend. There are student and adult speakers, music, games, and fellowship.

The journalism (Tiger TV) class represents the news of the school. In order to join Tiger TV, the current staff will hold tryouts at the end of each school year. Candidates should be outgoing, creative, team players, and responsible. Tiger TV’s goal is to air monthly broadcast news shows to grades 7-12. Journalism students will learn reporting, filming, editing, and writing techniques. Students will operate video cameras and iMac computers with emphasis on the editing software, iMovie. In the past, Tiger TV has worked in conjunction with DTC-TV and The Carthage Courier. Former students have become journalism interns for DTC-TV; started their own media companies; and entered prestigious journalism programs with area colleges. Overall, Tiger TV is about having fun while learning valuable college and career skills.

FBLA is the Future Business Leaders of America. It is the oldest and largest student organization in the United States. FBLA gives students opportunities to meet business professionals and learn about careers in business. It also allows students to opportunities to learn valuable communication skills, public speaking and networking abilities. To join FBLA, a student must be, or have been enrolled in a business class taught by Ms. Mason. If a student wishes to join, please see Ms. Mason in room G11 for an application.

HOSA is the Health Occupations Students of America, also known as Future Healthcare Professionals. The purpose of the HOSA organization is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program. The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community. To join HOSA, a student must be, or have been enrolled in a Health Science class taught by Mrs. Keeton.
